Employment Opportunity Information for Former Northvolt Employees
Employment Opportunity Information for Former Northvolt Employees
Information regarding employment at Lyten for former Northvolt employees.
1. When will the acquisition be finalized?
Lyten’s acquisition of the Northvolt assets is expected to finalize during Q4 2025.
2. Has Lyten entered a collective agreement?
Yes. Lyten Ett AB, Lyten Labs AB and Lyten AB have all joined the employers’ association Teknikarbetsgivarna and are thereby bound by collective agreements with IF Metall (for wage earners) and with Unionen, Sveriges Ingenjörer and Ledarna (for salaried employees).
3. Has and will Lyten consult with the unions?
Yes. Union consultations commenced in September and are still ongoing. The consultations cover issues regarding the start of Lyten's operations, Lyten’s organisational structure, the roles that will be implemented and which employees could claim a right to employment in the roles implemented in Lyten, etc. In the consultations, Lyten has, among other things, communicated its intention to primarily consider former Northvolt employees with priority rights for reemployment in Northvolt when recruiting.
4. How many will Lyten employ and when?
Lyten is continuously evaluating the pace of the start of its operations, and it has not yet been determined exactly which roles will be implemented, how many roles will be filled or when. However, the start of the operations in Lyten Ett and Lyten Labs will begin at a measured pace and is intended to scale over time as key manufacturing and commercial milestones are achieved.
5. Where can I find information about open roles?
Information about open roles can be found on Lyten's website (https://lyten.com/about-us/careers/). Job advertisements have also been published on Platsbanken.
6. Will former Northvolt employees be prioritized in connection with recruitment into Lyten?
Yes. The recruitment of qualified former Northvolt employees is a priority and Lyten is collaborating with both unions and local stakeholders to ensure that Lyten can retain local skills.
Lyten has communicated in consultation with the unions that the intention is to observe the rules on right of priority for re-employment when recruiting. However, union consultations are still ongoing and therefore no final confirmation on the matter can be provided.
7. What does it mean to have a right of priority for reemployment?
Lyten’s intention is to primarily employ former Northvolt employees with priority rights to re-employment with Northvolt. The priority right is determined based on which Northvolt entity you were previously employed by. Hence, Lyten Ett will mainly employ former Northvolt Ett employees, and Lyten Labs will mainly employ former Northvolt Labs employees. For you to be offered employment, you must meet Lyten’s recruitment criteria and also hold adequate qualifications for the relevant role.
8. Do I need to apply for the open positions published on Platsbanken to claim my right of re-employment?
No. However, and although Lyten is informed about all former Northvolt employees with priority rights to re-employment in Northvolt, Lyten does not have information about your qualifications. Therefore, and if you are interested in future opportunities with Lyten, please register your interest by clicking HERE and uploading your updated resume. If you meet Lyten’s hiring criteria and your competence and skills match an open role, and you have the best priority right for an open role you will be contacted by Lyten. If you do not provide Lyten with your updated resume, we will be unable to evaluate your qualifications for future employment. Also, and since the number of former Northvolt employees with priority rights is higher than the number of roles that will be available within Lyten, you might not be contacted.
9. Does priority right only apply to the legal entity and location where my former Northvolt employment was?
Priority rights to re-employment apply in the corresponding entity (i.e., former Northvolt Ett employees are primarily considered for employment in Lyten Ett, etc).
Also, the priority rights to re-employment apply within the same location (municipality, SW: kommun) in which you were previously based (i.e., former Northvolt Ett employees based in Skellefteå are primarily considered for employment by Lyten Ett in roles based in Skellefteå).
